This Level 4 Award in Understanding the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes course is made up of one unit which does not require evidence of practice.

The course is designed for individuals who want to have an idea regarding internal quality assurance practice. It has a 45 hours guided learning requirement.

Achievement of this qualification will enable you to be exempt from unit 1 when completing either the Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice and Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice.

There are no entry requirements for the Level 4 Award in Understanding the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment. You are however expected to have access to the world wide web, word processor and be willing to work hard to achieve the qualification. You are required to commit some time to participate in course activities and complete course tasks.

In order to complete and achieve the qualification you need to demonstrate an understanding of the concepts and principles of quality assurance. You need to understand the roles and responsibilities of all the practitioners involved in quality assurance. There is a requirement for you to be able to understand the role of standardisation, sampling, planning, reasonable adjustments, giving feedback, reflection, CPD and working in line with policies and procedures (equality, safeguarding, welfare provision, data protection, appeals, complaints, conflict of interest, malpractice, maladministration, health and safety).

The Level 4 Award in Understanding the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment is delivered mainly by distance learning (online). It is also delivered as classroom-based over three days. The normal course duration entirely by distance learning is 28 days.

All candidates will be allocated an assessor who will also be their primary contact. You will be expected to actively participate in tutorials.

Assessment normally requires completing three questions. Upon successful completion of the course, your work will undergo both internal and external quality assurance. We will claim your certificate from the awarding body. Certificates are normally issued within 14 days after successful external quality assurance.
